Upcoming Events at the Kodiak History Museum

Museum grand re-opening and ribbon cutting!

Begins at 1pm with community speakers, a performance by the Alutiiq Dancers, food trucks and free admission to the museum.

Music in the Gallery

Walk over during Crab Fest week to enjoy our annual free concert by the Kodiak Russian Balalaika Players! Museum admission is free. All ages welcome.

Summery painting Day! Come choose from a variety of canvases and enjoy a free, no rules painting day! No cost and all supplies provided. Walk-in any time between 11 and 1pm. Great for all ages. Supported by Spouses Association of Kodiak.

Sum’Arts Kids Become Curators

Our second year of kids creating their own exhibit! Students learn about what museums do, safe object handling and through writing and art, create an interesting display. For details and registration, contact the Kodiak Arts Council.

Historic Wallpaper Inspired Embroidery Workshop

Create your own embroidery patterns from the beautiful layers of vintage (and modern!) wallpaper motifs found over the years in the Magazin. Then hand stitch them into a beautiful piece of art for your home. $10 class fee reserves your spot and covers all supplies. Class is limited to 10 stitchers.
