"The Iceland was the last wooden salmon seiner in the Chignik fleet. She now resides in a quiet cove of brackish water between Chignik Lagoon and Chignik River."
Nerka Designs was born of one woman's love for wild spaces, thunderous surf, rough peaks, soft tundra and the colors and creatures that call these landscapes home. Myra Scholze was born and raised in Kodiak, Alaska and now resides in Nome, where she works for a non-profit organization. When she’s not creating, she is often chasing her pint-sized dogs down beaches and up mountains, or curled up with a book. She enjoys ceramics, painting, drawing, sewing, writing, and teaching kid’s art classes. Myra describes herself as independent, resilient, and determined, and her goal for this year is to find peace in the present.
